About me

Hi, my name is amanda

I am a senior, graduating in a matter of weeks, with a business major from the Ross School of Business and a minor in writing. Post graduation, I will be working as a financial analyst for Ally Financial in Detroit, Michigan.

In my free time, I take up pretty much any opportunity to be involved in athletics or to be outdoors - I am big into running, soccer, and boxing. Also, I am a huge dog lover. My family has the sweetest golden retriever you will ever meet (and I have taken it upon myself to steal her from home for campus visits multiple times this school year).

I've always had a thing for resolutions and goal setting - you see, I am a very type A personality sort of person, so this sort of structured way of keeping track of my accomplishments has always made sense. I've taken various courses that have talked about goal setting, including a Health & Fitness course at UofM, and this has sparked my interest in completing previous research on gratitude and the daily practices of expressing gratitude amongst different groups of students on campus.

This interest in health, goal settings/resolutions, as well as gratitude led me to my interest in exploring this topic further. Ultimately, this led to my interest in exploring New Years Resolutions, health habits, and the success rates of those that set these sorts of goals for my senior capstone. I'm hoping to share my observational research and secondary research in a way that will successfully help undergraduate students better understand why we set these goals and resolutions for ourselves.

In addition to supplying this resource to others, I am looking forward to gaining a lot from this experience, also. My long-term goal is to take this learning process and apply it in my future career to understand which sorts of goals and resolutions are realistic and healthy, and which ones are not.
