PROJECT PROPOSAL

REMEDIATION PROJECT

GRATITUDE AT UOFM: A COMPARISON OF LSA STUDENTS AND UOFM STUDENTS

In this project proposal you will see my initial thoughts regarding this project.  I referenced similar videos with a "feel good" vibe that I wanted to incorporate in my own.  The links for these videos are included in the document.  They were a source of inspiration since one, in particular, conducted more of a case study on its participants.  This gave me the idea to do the same for mine since I really enjoyed the film.

I discuss my exigence and context of the video in the paper, also.  My goal was to create a video applicable to college students.  By the end of the project you can see that I honed in on this further and made my focus more towards University of Michigan college students.

The purpose of this film was to use the magazine article I wrote in my Repurposing Project, and elaborate on it further.  I continued my theme of gratitude in my Remediation Project but wanted to focus on a more specific part, random acts of kindness.  My first thought was to observe others doing random acts of kindness or to ask people to do them, but since I was doubtful whether I would obtain results that did not feel "staged" I decided to do a more interview-based video.  As you scroll through this page you will see my progression and the final video at the bottom.

STORYBOARD

REMEDIATION PROJECT

The following images link to my various pages of my storyboard.  They show the initial planning process for this project.  It was difficult thinking of various angles and what type of footage I would need to complete my video.  It was also challenging to incorporate this and think what type of audio I would like to use for my film.  By preparing this storyboard, however, I was able to efficiently do my filming.  This initial planning gave me focus and direction for the project.  Although my final product did not follow the formatting exactly, it was a good starting point.

GRATITUDE AT UOFM: A COMPARISON OF LSA STUDENTS AND UOFM STUDENTS
The footage in this film was recorded at the University of Michigan at locations including Ross, Mason Hall, and also the Undergraduate Science Building.

All particpants are documented as anonymous and were either a part of LSA or Ross.  I chose to examine these two groups of students since I am both a student in Ross and also LSA.
